The delicate leaves on a lotus plant are constantly
exposed to the elements but always stay clean.
The leaves are composed of nanostructures that make the leaf’s
surface superhydrophobic. As the drops of water roll off
the surface, the dirt particles roll away with them.
What if we could impart those same nanostructures
into materials we fabricate?
