PRINTING REINVENTED
From works of art
to best-selling novels,
wall decorations, movie
posters, greeting cards, custom
fabrics, soda cans, sandals,
and even car parts, print is an
integral part of our day-to-day
lives. Print enables us to take
words, pictures, and ideas, and
create tangible, long-lasting
artifacts. In celebration of
what print offers us today and
the possibilities of what’s still
to come, we dedicate this issue
of the Innovation Journal to the
future of print.

My colleague Enrique Lores,
President of HP's Imaging &
Printing business, discusses
the print renaissance that
HP has embarked on over
the past three years, sparked
by a wave of innovations
that put print seamlessly in
the digital path of life. From
Instant Ink subscriptions to
HP Tango, and HP Sprocket
in the consumer space, to the
smallest laser printers for the
home office, to reimagining
large print and packaging,
Enrique’s team has been
blazing a new path for print.
This issue also goes behind
the scenes of the recent HP
Metal Jet launch, where
we introduced the world’s
most advanced 3D printing
technology for the high-volume
manufacturing of production-
grade metal parts. We will
also hear firsthand from HP
customers about the role 3D
printing is having in business
transformation. Moreover,
learning how 3D printing is
having a sustainable impact on
manufacturing, supply chains,
and economies.
Finally, we’ll travel across
the globe and hear from Tian-
Chong (TC) Ng, President,
Asia Pacific and Japan, who
shares the opportunities he
sees for HP in the Asia-Pacific
region, and the impact new
technologies like 3D printing
are having on customers in
the region. With Asia-Pacific
accounting for nearly half the
global manufacturing market,
TC and his team are using
their many years of experience
in the region to help drive the
disruption of virtually every
part of the global $12 trillion
manufacturing industry.
The opportunities print
innovation continues to offer
HP, our customers, and
partners are endless and the
potential impact on our work
and lives immense.
