Delivering insightful management and business flexibility while improving the end-user computing experience
This is the second article in a three-part series entitled , “ The Everything-as-a-Service Revolution .” The series will provide insight into HP ’ s Everythingas-a-Service expertise and innovation , a key part of the company ’ s growth strategy .

Today , we live in an “ Everything-asa-Service ” world . There ’ s demand for products and managed services that renew themselves constantly and are easily consumable . At last year ’ s annual HP Partner Conference , we introduced Device as a Service ( DaaS ), to build on the value of Managed Print Services ( MPS ). At this year ’ s World Partner Forum , HP is raising the bar with new managed services that focus on user experience , delivering the right device for the right experience .

Trends impacting DaaS offerings
Global trends are driving significant changes in work styles and workplaces , from rapid urbanization to changing demographics , and the need for accelerated innovation . The transformation in the workforce is being fueled in part by the proliferation of devices , with 9 billion commercial devices expected by 2020 , and employees expected to use an average of 4.3 devices each in this new world of work . 1 All of these trends have driven HP to create state-of-the-art DaaS offerings for our customers .
HP ’ s DaaS Offerings
HP ’ s latest DaaS offerings will deliver the same level of convenience and superior end user experience consumers receive with MPS in computing . Our goal is to provide tangible tools and managed services that simplify how commercial organizations equip users with the right devices , accessories , and

lifecycle services to get the job done — while improving efficiency and cost predictability for IT . By wrapping the hardware with lifecycle services , we ’ re able to simplify how IT organizations manage their fleets , while improving device reliability and satisfaction . There ’ s also the added bonus of freeing up IT resources to focus on more strategic projects , not to mention greater financial predictability .

Since announcing the service , we ’ ve been working away to solidify the offer . Our new positioning emphasizes the key benefits to our commercial customers . We want to improve IT efficiency . We want to drive better end user experiences . Because at the end of the day , if employees aren ’ t happy , it ’ s difficult for IT to be happy .
We also want to work with IT to help allocate their resources more efficiently , so they can help their company focus on its growth . HP DaaS is an enabler to IT agility . Our goal is not to minimize or supplant the role of IT in a company , but to strengthen its function .
We do just that by offering a solution that is multi-device and multi-OS . We want to work with our customers to ensure that when it comes to DaaS , companies have access to a new , modern consumption model that enables them to supply the right devices to their employees . Oftentimes , that means being able to support a device mix .
There ’ s also the added flexibility that comes with dealing with HP , which manifests itself in different ways . Customers can access a variety of plans and tailor them to their needs with additional lifecycle services from HP or partners . Flexibility also comes in the form of being able to pay per device , per month with different term options , and the option to flex down 2 to adapt to market dynamics . And with HP ’ s global scale , companies have the ability to support their employees regardless of where they are .

HP ’ s DaaS offerings provide configuring , pricing and quoting tools that make it simpler to get accurate estimates into the hands of decision makers , and manage your business . Building offers while managing your costs and delivering customer value should be a simple , frictionless process .
