MID ALL THE CHANGES IN the world around us , there is one thing I know for sure : The spirit of innovation is alive and well at HP , and it ’ s opening up new possibilities for people , companies , and communities .
One of the gifts of being CEO is the chance to spend time with so many of our employees and learn more about their cutting-edge work firsthand . Over the past several months , I ’ ve traveled to a number of global markets and witnessed amazing innovation in action .
The lessons I ’ ve taken away from these travels are not only about the beauty of the world ’ s different cultures and regions . They are also about the shared qualities of our people that transcend borders — qualities I find in each and every country I visit . Everywhere I go , I see restless imagination at work . The ability to dream up things that have never existed before . A fundamental belief in making the world better . And a tireless work ethic rooted in the idea that anything is possible .
In France , the creativity and ingenuity of our team have led to our most sustainable cartridge yet : the HP EvoCycle , made entirely from recycled and reused parts . And HP employees in the Netherlands have developed an award-winning initiative to reuse and recycle hardware that will help customers and businesses shrink their environmental footprint while saving on raw materials .
In Israel , I had a chance to see our latest HP Indigo presses . Like everyone else who has tested them , I was amazed by their unprecedented productivity , versatility , quality , and security — everything that will make them the digital press factory of the future . In Singapore , we are collaborating with the Singapore Institute of Management to create a series of sustainable manufacturing courses that will benefit more than 1,500 workers , while also helping green the country ’ s manufacturing sector .
And at home in North America , I ’ ve been inspired by the culture of innovation that unites our HP and Poly teams as they join forces to rethink workplace collaboration . Together , we ’ re creating the hybrid work experiences of the future .
These are just a few of the many thoughtful ideas across HP with the power to change the world . In this issue of Innovation , you ’ ll learn about several others : how we ’ re making mass-market printing more customized and sustainable ; how HP is helping create “ impossible architecture ” with 3D printing ; how “ flow ” benefits your brain and helps you do better work ; and how volunteer opportunities are not only good for the world , they ’ re good for business , too .
And all this fills me with optimism and excitement about the opportunities ahead . Because every HP site is home to game-changing ideas that will help us to win in our markets — while also shaping the future of how the world lives and works .
Saludos ,
